Field Notes

Description:

Leucauge is a spider genus with pantropical distribution. The spiders also are known as "horizontal orb spiders". They build inclined or horizontal orb webs, although vertical webs can sometimes be seen. They build complete orb web without a stabilimentum.

Habitat:

Observed in a large semi-urban yard garden; adjacent patch of disturbed remnant forest.
