Description:

Found this early blooming specimen within a second-growth stand of confers.

Habitat:

In second-growth timber confer stand near rock bluff.

Notes:

Shot a few photos of this relatively common plant. The rootstock of this species is ground and dried and used as a very pleasant spice in foods.
