Description:
Appearing in green, grey, black, olive or brown with a white underside. Males can reach 14ft in length, female 8-9ft. Weighing between 270-800lbs at maturity. (Can become much larger) Jeveniles have a stiped pattern on their skin used to help with camoflauge.
Habitat:
The American alligator inhabits wetlands that frequently overlap with human-populated areas. Found in the Southeastern United States primarily in freshwater, however can be found in brackish water (salt/fresh mix).
Notes:
American Alligators have the strongest measured bite of any animal.
