Description:

Most abundent Zebra in Southern Africa - much variation in pattern = generally in South Africa have shadow stripes overlaid on the white (absent in central and east) Ears shorter than other species. Gestation 375 days with foaling at the start of the rainy season. Access to water is necessary for youngs survival.

Habitat:

Savanna - open woodland up to altitude of 4000 mtrs.
