Description:

This is a juvenile Black-crowned Night Heron - still heavily striped and spotted, and the eyes are still yellow-orange.

Habitat:

Low branches surrounding a pond full of fish

Notes:

When mature, the coloration will be solid sections of dark blue-grey and white, and the eyes turn bright red.
