It could be a slaty skimmer or a comanche skimmer, but they're in the US/Canada I think. Hmmm, Epaulet Skimmer is a bit closer region-wise. Yup, that's it. I'm locking my vote in for Orthetrum chrysostigma aka Epaulet Skimmer: http://odonatacentral.org/index.php/GalleryAction.getTaxaImages/taxon_id/47410/from/browse Wow, I didn't know we got dragonflies in Kuwait. Am not getting much closer with this fellow and these photos. Wish I could have gotten more shots :/ From this (old) discussion on Birdforum and the photos there http://www.birdforum.net/showthread.php?t=80339 I got the lead to it maybe being a 'Anax parthenope' - but after searching for more photos, I'm thrown off that path again. Will keep looking :)

Looks for me like a typ of "Orthetrum". In German "Blaupfeil".
