Field Notes

Description:

I spotted this little fellar on a plant I was dead-heading. Unfortunately, I couldn't get any more shots because the flower head slipped out of my fingers and the poor thing got catapulted somewhere! I think it's a katydid because of the antenna.

So do I. I just have too many of them left in my archives :D!
I can imagine that it was funny :D Looking forward to see what you come up with to get some ideas for some critters I still have on the backburner (aka in my archives) :)
I know, I would have liked more photos but as I said, the flower head slipped from my fingers and the poor critter got catapulted! It was kinda funny at the tiem, though.... :D The antennas were huge for a creature that size, and the back legs were long too, making me think it's a katydid or a cricket, as Ashish has suggested. I'll do some research into finding out exactly what it is over the weekend.
Oh, from the thumb I first thought a Caterpillar of some sort, hehe :) Impressive antennas for something so small :)
