Field Notes

Description:

An attractive geometrid moth with a broad purplish grey band on wings. The sub marginal areas on fore wings showed two small irregular patches of dark colour along a wavy thin dark line. The wings were margined by a narrow brown fringe.

Habitat:

Spotted under bright lights after a warm afternoon. Near national park.

Notes:

There appears to be two types of males and females in this species. The males of this variant show a narrower and perhaps a paler grey band.
