Description:
Looks very similar to a bumble bee.
Habitat:

Notes:
The genus Laphria includes the bee-mimic robber flies, and this one seems to fit, though I haven't nailed down the species yet. When it first landed I didn't have my camera ready and it flew away, crushing my spirit. Thankfully, however, it landed on this leaf a few seconds later and I was able to get some pictures of it. Found at Cedar Bog State Nature Preserve.
