Description:

Small butterfly of the neo-tropics. Generally common in Central and South America, as well as south Texas and Florida, this butterfly all but disappeared from the Tampa Bay area following the record cold winter of 2010. In the last month or two, they have at last begun to reappear, nearly 18 months later.

Habitat:

Generally found in wet areas where its host plants grow, including Water Hyssop (Bacopa).

The plant is Partridge Pea (Chamaecrista_fasciculata), host plant for sulphur butterflies and now full of bright yellow blooms in my butterfly garden! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chamaecrista_fasciculata
