Hmmm. On second thought might be a Eurostus validus?
Here's some from Papua http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7934334
Yup S Frazier. Wasn't able to look into the lead from Lori after a while till I saw the new post from Aldrin. Reminded me of this so had to look again. Think it might be a Bright Shield Bug Nymph (Pycanum rubens) now as the link Asish posted in Aldrin's has a picture closely resembling it. The wiki page Lori directed has one but bright red so didn't think at that time it could be one :-)
He is. First time to encounter one. Thanks Nicole :-)
The nymph of a shield bug, probably in the family Tessaratomidae: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tessaratomidae
