Field Notes

Description:

Conure; yellow neck, red chest, red tail feathers, green chin and cheeks, green wings, blue flight feathers, and a few other colors.

Habitat:

Although he's caged in most of the pictures, he spends lots of time around the house and playing outdoors. In the last picture, his feathers are being pruned-which he loves.

Notes:

This is my cousin's bird Peanut, he is only loyal to one member in my family which is not me. I refused to take pictures of him free because he goes through so much trouble trying to protect his owner from my camera! In other words, he loves to bite!

I don't think it's a crimson-bellied conure, their red breast is too finely defined. It looks like it could be a mutation of a green-cheeked conure. Possibly a Pineapple. Pretty sure that's not a Sun Conure. Looks more like a Pyrrhura family conure. Maybe a crimson-bellied conure?
