Description:

Gibbon calls can be heard for up to 2km. The call of the female white handed Gibbon is a long wail, rising in irregular swoops through two octave.

Habitat:

rainforest

Notes:

I took this video clip in Thaleh Ban National Park in southern Thailand. I never did see the gibbons that made these calls but I heard them often. They were in the forest on the left of the photo and all the park trails were on the other side of the lake. Not 100% sure of the ID but they fit the range.
