Field Notes

Description:

It looked like a beetle, at first. I did not see it with its wings spread. A long narrow insect with black antennae and black eyes and the most amazing pattern of orange, black and white on its back.

Habitat:

I spotted it on the Joe Pye Weed in my garden.

Notes:

Take a look at the photo in the Encyclopedia of Life link at the right to see what this creature looks like with its wings spread.
