Field Notes

Description:

Hemiptera: Tessaratomidae: (Lyramorpha)

Habitat:

Spotted in a large semi-urban yard/garden next to a disturbed remnant patch of forest.

Notes:

There are posted photos of "Lyramorpha rosea" nymphs on various websites that look very much like this specimen. However EOL doesn't treat the genus. Source http://www.heteroptera.fr/tessite/Lyramorpha/index.html lists range for L. rosea as Australia (but not New Guinea). Here is a link to the genus for Papua http://www.papua-insects.nl/insect%20orders/Hemiptera/Heteroptera/unide…

Thanks lori.tas, it indeed looks like this species but I'm having trouble finding the scientific name in EOL type sources...
Shaped like a nymph of Lyramorpha rosea. But I'm not sure about the black marks.
