Description:

Hairy Vetch is a legume native to Europe, and planted in North America as a cover crop or companion crop for fixing nitrogen in the soil. Small elongated leaves and a viney behavior are distinctive. Small clusters of purple flowers.

Habitat:

Growing in my garden at 5,000 ft elevation along the Colorado Front Range. Watered daily by drip irrigation.
