Description:

large, 1.5"

Habitat:

Notes:

I came home from work yesterday and found this katydid and a planthopper on my Chorisia spinosa tree. I took some photos and then shooed them away. I don't want them eating my tropical plants!

That link has some shots of the pink variety of this katydid. I'd love to see one of those!
Nice Link...@Amber...!!
I think this might be a Fork-tailed Bush Katydid http://entnemdept.ufl.edu/walker/buzz/063pf4.htm
It could be, it looks more like your second suggestion. I think it is it except it doesn't seem to match the distribution for this species, which is Europe to Mongolia, according to wiki. These katydids can look so alike! I will update later. Thanks.
Can be following..? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tettigonia_viridissima
I'm not sure. It doesn't seem to be as 'handsome' as the pics I see online. It's not as brightly colored and doesn't have the blue eyes. Think it could be a female or immature?
Dan I think its Handsome Meadow Katydid (Orchelimum pulchellum)
