Description:

Pomatoceros triqueter es una especie de construcción-tubo de anélidos del gusano de la clase Polychaeta . It is common on the north eastern coasts of the Atlantic Ocean and in the Mediterranean Sea. Es común en las costas del noreste del Océano Atlántico y en el Mar Mediterráneo.
Polychaetes, or marine bristle worms, have elongated bodies divided into many segments. Los poliquetos o gusanos marinos de cerdas, tienen un cuerpo alargado dividido en varios segmentos. Each segment may bear setae (bristles) and parapodia (paddle-like appendages). Cada segmento puede tener setas (pelos) y parapodios (paddle-como apéndices). Some species live freely, either swimming, crawling or burrowing, and these are known as "errant". Algunas especies viven en libertad, ya sea nadar, arrastrarse o en madrigueras, y estos se conocen como "errantes". Others live permanently in tubes, either calcareous or parchment-like, and these are known as "sedentary". Otros viven de forma permanente en los tubos, ya sean calcáreos o como pergamino, y estos se conocen como "sedentarios".
