I can relate to that one. In Hungary (two years ago) we had some wasps that tried constantly to use our big keyholes in and around the house to build a nest. I plugged them up with paper and they finally went to the garden door with hollow room inside to get started there. One eventually got me, but it seems my body doesn't have a problem with those stings. Shit still hurt ;-)
Thanks. These are large and impressive wasps but are fairly easy to approach, which is good for someone like me who has a bit of a fear of stinging insects in general.
Beautiful spotting and macro!
