Hawksbill Turtle

Hi Laura. Thanks for the confirmation. The "serrated" edge does give a clue and hope I am right on this one. From additional readings now, a difference between the green and hawksbill can also be seen on the prefrontal scales between the eyes. Green turtles have a pair while the hawksbill has 2 pairs. Actually there are about 3 turtles we regularly see in this dive site, this being the juvenile as it was about only 2 feet on length. The others are much bigger and one I am almost sure is another hawksbill judging from the scales between the eyes. Too bad I couldn't post the picture here since I did not take it. But will try to snap a photo of it on our next dives :-)

Thanks Sean. One of my favorites as well. A dive seems not complete without them. They have a calming effect on me. Looking forward to seeing them again this weekend and next weekend's dives, weather permitting. :-)
