Field Notes

Description:

we saw this little guy/girl in a little puddle of water in the bottom of the Tonto Natural Bridge, AZ. He / She would come up for air and dive back down. Seems to have little fins, kind of shaped like a beetle with spots. The only one in the pond.

Thank you. I google "aquatic beetle" and found out that is a Thermonectus marmoratus aka. Sunburst diving beetle. :)
That's definitely an aquatic beetle, not a fish. I haven't done much with aquatic beetles before, so that's about as much help as I can be.
