Field Notes

Description:

A very well known, easily recognisable and highly social insect. The bees in Italy form their own sub-species, A. m. ligustica, and were noticably smaller, less fuzzier and slightly more orange in colour than the ones I see in the UK.

Notes:

Spotted many buzzing around a clover patch in Milan's Parco Sempione.
