Field Notes

Description:

This snake was greenish yellow in color and approximately four feet long. I believe it may be an eastern yellow-bellied racer. The color variations could indicate that it is a juvenile. It climbed up the tree with ease.

Habitat:

It was 102 degrees Fahrenheit with abundant sunshine. The terrain here is desert like with very little rainfall and low humidity. There are mesquite and elm trees in the area.
