Field Notes

Description:

With a wing span of about 25 mm this handsome moth had beautiful crossed patterns of black and brown on its fore wings and a black band on the thorax. Antennae were feathered suggesting that this was a male moth.

Habitat:

Spotted under bright lights on after a warm afternoon.

Notes:

The hind wings are said t be yellow with black apices.
