Description:
Found in Costa Rica in shady moist cloud forest at elevations of 1100 to 1900 meters as a large sized, warm growing epiphyte with erect, stout ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 close, tubular sheaths and another on the lower half and carrying a single, apical, suberect to spreading, coriaceous, avate, acute, acuminate, basally sessile and deeply cordate leaf that blooms in the winter on a fascile of successive single flowered inflorescence arising through a narrow spathe and holding the flower against the leaf base.
Habitat:
This individual was found in a Montane Rainforest at 1300 m a.s.l.
