I was a bit too quick with my suggestion it seems. Upon further study, it seems it may be Epilachna indica. http://joento-malaysianladybirds.blogspot.com/2011/10/epilachninae.html
Hi Sigg, thanks for the ID suggestion, looking for some refs from this part of the world, the fact that this one appears to being plant eating looks very positive.
That looks like that exact same type of beetle that's eating my cucumber plants. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/638436027 Which is a little strange as I'm on the other side of world.
