Field Notes

Description:

Red cap,slightly concave with white stem and spore. Straight spore "vanes". Smooth stem and cap,beautiful to look at.

Habitat:

Deep old growth woods with lots of deciduous and conifers growing abundantly around it. Deep ravine with waterfalls, boulders, and rock slides.

Notes:

Found in area /reserve called Dundee Falls outside of Wilmot, Ohio on June 26th. Many different types of mushrooms in the immediate vicinity. Found approximately 15 different species. Most appear either poisonous or at least inedible.
