Description:

Zygaenidae are day-flying moths which are quite well represented in temperate regions. Zygaena purpuralis is medium-sized with a wingspan reaching 30–34 millimetres (1.2–1.3 in). Usually the forewings show three bright red longitudinak streaks quite variable in shape, with almost transparent greyish-bluish edges. Hind wings are more extensively or almost completely bright red.

Habitat:

Spotted at an alpine meadow, 1300m ASL.
This species can be is found in most of central and southern Europe, from France through to Asia Minor, the Caucasus, Russia and the Altai Mountains.

Notes:

It is be impossible to distinguish it from Z. purpuralis from Z. minos without examining genitalia. However Z. purpuralis is the most likely for the location:

Thank you Satyen. The flower is a field scabious, Knautia arvensis, a very common meadow flower loved by many insects.
