Spotting Video

Field Notes

Description:

My first encounter with a Crocodile Snake Eel taken during a night dive last March 5, 2011 at Dive and Trek House Reef in Batangas, Philippines. Picture above is a screen grab of the video which is added to this.

Was in awe at how it buries itself in the sand. You have to see the video :-)

Added a dramatic musical score for effect.

Thanks Sean. Hope you enjoyed the video :-)
Thanks @ceherzog. Sure you would have loved it had you been there. :-)
That was great..wish I could have been there. What an adventure!
Thanks Dan! A little thriller on the side :-)
Wow! I wasn't sure what was going to happen! That sand seems really fluffy.
Wow! I think the dramatic music matches how everybody was feeling... including the eel!!
Thanks Saarbrigger. Glad you enjoyed the video. A bit frightening really since it was dark and the eel looked menacing. But it actually was as afraid of us as we were of it. Just loved the way it burrowed itself back into the sand.
Wow. Impressive video. Must have been stunning down there.
