Description:

Gray body, red antennae, abdomen with spots of black and red.

Habitat:

Forest/field edge

Notes:

These are three nymphs found over two nights and were actually the first wheel bugs I saw this summer. The nymphs don't reach adulthood until late summer in the first place, so these nymphs are pretty much on schedule.

Thanks, Lori. It's interesting how there's no sign of the cog in the nymphs, isn't it? Hopefully someday soon I'll see a nymph molting to the adult and be able to see the change in action.
