Field Notes

Description:

Often mistaken for a hummingbird but this moth is so named for it's speed and zig-zag flying from flower to flower seeking nectar. Also commonly referred to as a shrimp-moth due to the lower abdomen closely resembling that of a shrimp.

Most often spotted as dusk and on this particular flowering-plant in the photo.
