The garter snake is beneficial to gardens for its slug eating habit. I was fortunate to capture this one in the act of eating a large banana slug

I was on a hike with over 20 other people. Felt very fortunate this guy was not disturbed by our presence

I love this! a Three year(have I been on Noah three years, now?) old spot comes to light!
And it wasn't a small garter, either. Those slugs are huge!
