Description:
A Dung Beetle doing what dung beetles do - rolling a ball of dung. Actually not all dung beetles do this, but all feed partly or exclusively on it. The dung balls are usually used as food or breeding chambers. This one was about 23mm from head to the tip of the abdomen, with very strong legs and shovel-like head. Black in colour with grooves on elytra.
Habitat:
Found in dry area of the Algarve hinterland, Rocha da Pena.
