Field Notes

Description:

Similar to another dock bug I photographed, but abdomen at base is much wider, and this one is paler in colour. Perhaps a different sex or regional variation.

Notes:

I couldn't take any more after it had landed on my arm - in that third photo, the bug just froze and stared at my gecko tattoo for ages! Reason I couldn't take any more photos was because I was laughing too much!

I don't know if it could really see it or if it was just coincidence, but it certainly seemed to wondering if it was dangerous or not. It was still for a good minute, so I don't know. Interesting, as well as funny. :)
I never thought they could really see such things. And take them as danger. Amazing :)
Well, to be fair the tattoo has been there much longer than the bug! :D It was pretty funny, the way it scurried up my arm and then just halted and stared!
You have me laughing here quite hard. How could you dare scare that poor bug so :D
