Description:

I'm pretty sure this is the Convergent Lady Beetle, but I don't know my insects very well, so someone please correct me if I'm wrong - While hiking Mt. Livermore in the Davis Mountain Preserve in Fort Davis we saw a huge swarm of lady beetles everywhere at the top. They were on every blade of grass, and while we were there they were climbing all over us too. I'm assuming it was a breeding swarm?

Habitat:

Rocky mountain top with low vegetation - grasses and small shrubs
