Description:

Spotted under a small decaying log at Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield in northern GA.

Habitat:

The smooth earth snake is a small, fossorial snake that spends most of its time buried in loose soil or leaf litter. Prefer to inhabit deciduous forests.
