Description:

Egg shaped, 9mm in length, covered in brown hair like scales, and sometimes small brown or yeller spots. Long slender beak.

Habitat:

Deciduous forests

Range: Eastern US, west to Arizona.

Notes:

Food: acorns of black, white, and red oak trees.
