Description:
A group of sessile trillium with mottled green bracts (aboveground "false" leaves) and red to green flowers.
Formerly grouped into the Trilliaceae family, Trillium species have been placed in the Melanthiaceae family. They are also grouped into the Liliales (lily) order. Trillium plants are perennial and propagate via underground rhizomes.
Habitat:
Growing in a dense mixed hardwood/coniferous forest in Northern Georgia
