Description:

I have seen this fly for the first time. Really a decorative fly. The green and turquoise mix of the color amazes me.

The Jewel wasp, quite common here in my neighborhood.
if i am not wrong, it has just one pair of wings.
Actually i am even confused. it flew away as i was trying to get even closer.
Are you sure it is a fly and not a wasp or an ant? Flies have only one pair of wings- unfortunately the picture doesn't show that detail well
