Southern Cyan Tiger Moth
Macrocneme chrysitis
18, -92.81
Field Notes
Description:
Apparently a wasp-mimic, to me it looked like an orchid-bee at first glance. It had a wingspan around 3cm, metallic green/blue with white on the joints and 'feet' of 3rd pair of legs; also two white dots between thorax and abdomen.
Habitat:
Lowland swap/wetland area with some forest in Tabasco, Mexico. Spotted in Yumká.
