Description:
It is a common Spotted Dove, once found in large in numbers, taking rest under the leaves of a monsoon wet 'Sajina' (Bengali ver.) tree.
Habitat:
Resident subject to some seasonal movement / migration. Generally 30 cms long / adult. Call: Krukoo .... Kroo ... kroo.... Nest of samll twigs in bush or Y-joint of a tree.
Notes:
For rapid urbanisation their numbers are becoming less and less. Sometimes die for pollution / poisoning. Becoming scavenger in nature for want of food.
