Field Notes

Description:

It is an insect-sized, with a chest long and thin antennae. It has two large compound eyes and three simple eyes between them. The head can rotate 180 º. His front legs, which keeps collected at the head are provided with strong spines to hold their prey.

Habitat:

Some mantis living in the grass. The adult mantis with wings, are attracted to ultraviolet (UV) in the late summer and early fall.
