Field Notes

Habitat:

found only along ocean beaches

Notes:

A large flock was gathered in a large fresh water pool that had collected in the sand from the previous night's heave rains. The flock was a mixed of these plus Black Skimmers, Laughing Gulls, and a few Sandwich Terns hidden among then. There was even an Osprey a little ways off bathing in the pool. took way too many photos of these guys, but they were very charismatic.
