Field Notes

Description:

It is the most widely distributed rush in Mexico, and the only one with yellow eyes. Like other sedges, has the outer tail feathers white. The throat may be pale white and chest, the back is bright rust. The peak is bicolor and walk instead of hopping.

Habitat:

Coniferous forests, pine-oak forests, tall grass
