Yes, I tried to be, though it appeared to already be injured in some way when I picked it up: it looked like some internal organs were hanging out of it's rear. I placed it on some grass so it wouldn't be stepped on, but I doubt it will survive.
i wish that you were really cautious while holding it, as i can see a hind leg turned up by your thumb !!
