What a lovely bird - you can really see the curiosity in his eyes!
Yeah I am the same, only get the chance about once a week :(
Me too... Monthly 4-6 days get free for Nature trails..or trekking...!!
ha ha Ashish I need to start building up my picture album again, I need to go and start taking some new photos! Just don't have as much time as I would like.
Haha... not only thanks... keep postings... more cute ones... :)
I agree that it is a demoiselle crane. It is not native to the area where it was photographed, so must have been a captive bird or an escapee. See http://www.savingcranes.org/demoiselle-crane.html for more information and a range map. (I used to work at the Crane Foundation, so I'm a bit biased towards their website.)
you are right Clement it is a demoiselle crane the plumes on the rear of the head are characteristic its also a young bird
I know this bird, thats a demoiselle crane http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demoiselle_Crane
Have you picture of entire body of this bird..to confirm exact specie..?
Thank you for the identification! I am very new to Project Noah so trying to get the hang of things on here.
