Dan... I think you have cleared it perfectly..!! http://www.backyardnature.net/yucatan/turntail.htm
Dear Dandoucette, I think I understand your position, I will get references to see the distinction between these two families. Thanks,
Breno, I've checked numerous websites, they all refer to this species as the turnip tailed gecko.
I'm not saying this is in the Gekkonidae family. I understand that is has been moved. What I am saying is that Phyllodactylidae is a gecko family, so it is still technically a gecko. Do you agree? http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/05/080522145204.htm
Dear Dandoucette, I do not I draw as a biologist on Wikipedia because the information there is free. This species was rather in the Gekkonidae family, but was reclassified by researchers in herpetology for which I reported. Here is a site with reliable data. http://www.sbherpetologia.org.br/checklist/repteis.htm cordially
This is from Wiki ' The Phyllodactylidae are a family of geckos (Gekkota) consisting of approximately 113 species distributed throughout the New World, North Africa, Europe and the Middle East.'
No, this species was reclassified, today it belongs to the family of Phyllodactylidae.
Ha his tail makes him look like he was squeezed out of a tube. Nice shot!
