Description:

They are large, gray-black flies with dark, longitudinal stripes on the back of the chest and a checkered pattern of lighter and darker fields on the back body. The body is possessed by long stiff hair.

Habitat:

Resting near a farm on low foliage.

Notes:

Norwegian name: Kjøttflue
