Description:

Wingspan 5cm, both sexes have 1 black spot well along front margin of hind wings.
Introduced accidentally near Montreal in the 1860's, this species has become an important pest.

Habitat:

urban garden

Notes:

I spotted this feeding on a butterfly bush in the flower bed on Portage rd at Oak Hall.
