Thank you! I agree it is a meadowhawk, though I don't think I could tell for certain which type.
it's definitely a meadowhawk, genus Sympetrum. Hard to guess on species though, from the pic. If I had to venture a guess, I'd say autumn meadowhawk (S. vicinum), but that's just a guess. There's several species that look very much like this (white-faced, cherry-faced, and ruby meadowhawks would be the other possibilities). I guessed autumn, because there doesn't appear to be any black markings on the abdomen, but it's tough to be certain from the pic. http://wiatri.net/inventory/odonata/SpeciesDetail.cfm?TaxaID=155
